His multicultural heritage includes Vietnamese, Chinese, and Italian roots, which he embraces as part of his identity. He transitioned to the professional ranks in October 2023, signing a long-term promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing. He continued his ascent with notable victories over opponents such as John Henry Mosquera, Ishmael Ellis, Jeff Ofori, Joe Underwood Hughes, Gavin Gwynne, and Jordan Flynn. His most recent fight in March 2025 saw him secure a seventh-round technical knockout against Flynn, further solidifying his place in the world of boxing as a formidable contender in the lightweight division.

Outside the ring, Vuong is recognized for his media presence and ambition. Technical Overview

Cameron Vuong’s boxing style is heavily influenced by the flashy, high-risk, high-reward approach seen in fighters like Prince Naseem Hamed. His style revolves around creating openings and using unorthodox movements to keep his opponent guessing. One of his key techniques is manipulating his punch mechanics to disguise attacks, such as turning a hook into a jab that then transitions into a cross. This unpredictability can catch his opponents off guard, leaving them unable to adjust in time.

Vuong excels at creating angles to throw off his opponent’s timing. By pulling his hands down in a fluid motion, he opens up spaces in his defense, forcing his opponent to raise their hands in response. This creates opportunities for Vuong to exploit openings, throwing punches quickly and unpredictably to land clean shots. His ability to pivot and shift his positioning allows him to move in and out of range while keeping his adversary off balance. In addition to his offensive style, Vuong employs a “new school” defense, which involves a combination of head movement, shoulder rolls, and footwork to avoid counters. He uses these techniques to reduce his exposure and create more opportunities for offense.
