Biography
Regie "Filipino Phenom" Suganob (born 24 November 1997) is a Filipino professional boxer who has competed in the light flyweight division. He challenged for the IBF light-flyweight world title in 2023 and is the WBO Global light-flyweight champion.
Suganob turned professional in 2019 and quickly rose through the ranks, amassing an undefeated record against fellow prospects including John Paul Gabunilas, Jake Amparo, and Indonesian contender Andika “D’Golden Boy.” In February 2023, he defeated Mark Vicelles in an IBF title eliminator, winning by technical decision after eight rounds.
This victory secured him a world title shot against Sivenathi Nontshinga in July 2023. Despite being dropped early, Suganob showed resilience and fought competitively over twelve rounds, ultimately losing by unanimous decision in his first championship attempt.
He rebounded later that year by claiming the WBO Global light-flyweight title with a dominant win over Ronald Chacon. In April 2024, Suganob defended the belt in front of his home fans in Tagbilaran, stopping Japanese contender Kai Ishizawa via eighth-round technical knockout in a statement performance.
