Biography
Siyakholwa Kuse (born 13 July 2003) is a South African professional boxer who competes in the mini-flyweight division. Known by the nickname “One Way”, he is one of the country’s brightest young talents and currently holds the WBC Silver mini-flyweight title, which he won in December 2024. At just 22 years old, Kuse has already established himself as a rising contender on the international stage.
Kuse enjoyed a successful amateur career, highlighted by winning a bronze medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games, before turning professional as a teenager in 2018. He captured the South African mini-flyweight title in 2019, becoming one of the youngest national champions in the division. Though he suffered setbacks in his early career, including defeats to Xolisa Magusha and Bangile Nyangani, Kuse rebounded strongly, avenging his loss to Nyangani and later claiming the African mini-flyweight title in 2023.
His breakthrough year came in 2024 when he defeated Malakhi Sobolo and Beaven Sibanda, the latter victory earning him the WBC Silver mini-flyweight belt. He successfully followed up with a unanimous decision win over former world title challenger Samuel Salva in May 2025, showing maturity and resilience by overcoming a first-round knockdown. The victory positioned him for a world title opportunity.
