Biography

Suzumi Takayama (高山涼深, born October 17, 1996) is a Japanese professional boxer who competes in the super flyweight division. Known for his aggressive southpaw style and high knockout rate, he has quickly established himself as one of Japan’s most promising fighters, holding the Japanese super flyweight title since 2023.

Takayama began his career in 2019 with a knockout victory and rose quickly through the domestic ranks. In just his third professional bout, he captured the Japanese Youth Super Flyweight title with a dramatic stoppage of Tetsuro Ohashi, a fight that saw both men hit the canvas before Takayama secured the finish in the eighth round. His momentum continued in June 2023, when he claimed the Japanese super flyweight title by stopping Ryusei Kawaura in four rounds.

He went on to defend his national belt with emphatic performances, including victories over Ryusei Murachi and Akio Furutani, both of whom were dropped multiple times before the referee halted the contests.
