Marcus Browne will step in to face Brandon Glanton on October 1 after Rocky Fielding withdrew from their scheduled cruiserweight clash. The fight will headline at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos State, Nigeria, promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions and AK Promotions, and streamed live on DAZN.
Browne (25-2, 16 KOs), a 34-year-old southpaw, has been out of the spotlight since a points win over Adrian Taylor two years ago. His last major outing came in December 2021, when he was stopped by Artur Beterbiev in a light heavyweight title bid. Determined to make up for lost time, Browne declared, “It’s been a long time coming. Glanton just wrote himself a check his ass won’t be able to cash.”
Glanton (20-3, 17 KOs), meanwhile, is looking to rebound from an April defeat to Chris Billam-Smith, a fight remembered as much for his controversial pre-fight comments as the action inside the ring. At 33, the American is fired up to settle old scores with Browne. “It’s not only a fight that was supposed to happen, but it’s a fight that needs to happen. Marcus Browne is legitimately a bad human being,” Glanton said.

The card will also feature Andrew Tabiti (22-2, 18 KOs) in chief support, though his opponent has yet to be confirmed. A previously scheduled matchup between Richard Commey and Shiloh Defreitas is expected to be rescheduled later this year.
With high stakes and plenty of animosity, Browne vs. Glanton adds another chapter to boxing’s expansion into Africa, promising fireworks under the Lagos lights.
