Miura Boxing will stage a world-level clash on September 27 at Sala Urbana in Naucalpan, Estado de México, with Jacky Calvo and Alma “La Leona” Meraz headlining in a bid for the WBA interim light flyweight championship. The event will air live on TVC Deportes in Mexico and globally on DAZN.
Calvo (24-9-2, 4 KOs), enters the bout with the advantage of fighting in her home state and will look to seize the opportunity to finally claim world honors. Across the ring, Tijuana’s Meraz (10-4-1, 2 KOs), is eager to upset the odds and return north with a career-defining victory and a world strap in her possession.
The co-main event features Mexico City’s explosive Chester Parada in an eight-round bout at super middleweight against an opponent to be announced. Also on the card, David “Pulga” Del Río faces Hugo “El Guerrero” Gutiérrez in a six-round super lightweight contest, while Ángel “Gallito” García and Einar “Cuervo Blanco” Martínez both line up for featherweight action.
Women’s flyweight prospect Sharon “Zurdita” López will square off with Lamdra Pride in a four-rounder, and Colombian Martín Higuita takes on Martín “Gallito de Oro” Villa in a six-round super welterweight clash. The evening will be rounded out by Brandon Ledezma in a four-round bout at 67.5 kilograms against an opponent still to be confirmed.
