Fight Details

The 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia is set to crackle again on Friday, June 27, with King’s Promotions presents a card headline by knockout artist Julian “Gifted” Gonzalez (16-0-1, 12 KOs) of Reading versus former world-title contender Jason Sanchez (16-6, 9 KOs). Gonzalez, 23, rides a wave of local notoriety after taking out unbeaten opponents Rosalindo Morales and Johnny Spell, and most recently blowing out Armando Frausto in a single round. The eight-round super-featherweight main event is his first true test against a fighter who has gone the distance with someone like Oscar Valdez.

Sanchez, 30, brings the grittiness of Albuquerque and thirteen years of professional experience to the ring. Sanchez, although just 3-4 in his last seven fights, pressed crafty puncher Jordan White to a split decision last August and claims Gonzalez is “just another prospect who has never felt real heat.” The match offers the dangerous Gonzalez’s seek-and-destroy approach in contrast to Sanchez’s counterpunching skill set—an exciting crossroads fight for regulars at the 2300.

In the co-feature, the WBA No. 2 bantamweight contender Brittany Sims (8-3, 5 KOs) of Salem, Oregon is fighting to clinch a title shot by taking on Colombian heavyweight Marcela Nieto (6-4-1, 5 KOs) in an eight-round bout. Sims fought through an up-and-down 2023 and is now on a five-fight winning streak. She pledged to steal the show with her body work and volume punches.
