Breyon Gorham is confident that Saturday night could be the springboard to the biggest opportunities of his career. The unbeaten junior welterweight headlines a DAZN card at Houston’s Bayou Music Center, where he will take on Puerto Rico’s Yomar Alamo in the main event.
Gorham (20-0, 16 KOs) is coming off the most significant win of his career to date, a decision over Luis Feliciano in May, and now looks to build further momentum. The 24-year-old Houston native believes that a victory over Alamo will put him in position to pursue marquee names such as Jamaine Ortiz, Liam Paro, or George Kambosos Jr. “I am one of the great fighters,” Gorham said. “I am going to be a Hall of Fame fighter. I am not shying away from competition and fighting the best fighters on the planet.”
Alamo (22-4-1, 13 KOs) brings experience against top competition, having already shared the ring with Ortiz, Paro, Richardson Hitchins, and Delante “Tiger” Johnson. While he came up short in all those outings, he did score a knockdown against Paro, proving he remains a live opponent. Gorham, however, views him simply as an obstacle: “He lost to all of those guys, and I feel he is in my way.”
Gorham also drew inspiration from last weekend’s shock result in Las Vegas, where Terence Crawford dethroned Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. “He is a guy that comes from my culture, where I come from; he comes from nothing,” Gorham said. “He just set the bar; that you can do whatever you want to do.”
The co-main event will feature WBC women’s featherweight champion Tiara Brown (19-0, 11 KOs), who makes the first defense of her world title after upsetting Skye Nicholson in Australia earlier this year. Her opponent is expected to be announced soon.

Also on the bill, Houston’s Giovanni Marquez (13-0, 6 KOs), son of former world champion Raul Marquez, continues his rise against Brooklyn’s Wesley Ferrer (17-2-1, 8 KOs) in an eight-round super lightweight contest. Giovanni has built a reputation for consistency, racking up four wins per year across the past three years.
