The Wandsbeker Sporthalle in Hamburg, Germany, will stage a world title unification clash between two of women’s boxing’s most skilled operators. Yuko Kuroki, the WBA minimumweight champion from Japan, faces Germany’s Sarah “Babyface” Bormann, the reigning WBO titleholder, in a 10-round contest that will determine divisional supremacy.
Kuroki (25-8-2, 10 KOs) enters the ring with over a decade of top-level experience, as the Japanese technician has faced many of the sport’s elite. Her composure under pressure and ring intelligence have made her one of Asia’s most accomplished fighters at 105 pounds.
Bormann (20-1, 7 KOs) will enjoy the backing of a home crowd as she looks to unify titles for the first time in her career. German champion has turned consistency into her trademark, as her lone loss came early in her career, and since then, she has developed into one of Europe’s most reliable titleholders.
