The picturesque town of Hameln will trade fairy-tale lore for prize-fighting drama on 13 September 2025, when hometown favourite Piergiulio Ruhe (17-1, 13 KOs) meets American power-puncher Abeid Zugo (15-1, 13 KOs) for the vacant WBA Gold World Championship at the intimate Rattenfängerhalle. Billed as “Ruhe vor dem Sturm II – Mission Weltmeisterschaft,” the bout marks the biggest night yet for Ruhe Boxing Promotion.
Ruhe has quietly amassed 17 victories in 18 outings, carving a reputation for measured aggression and crisp punch placement. Now the 27-year-old super-welterweight gets the championship opportunity on home soil and in front of a partisan crowd.
Zugo, fighting out of Maryland by way of New Jersey, brings a starkly contrasting résumé: 13 knockouts among 15 wins, including a run of highlight-reel finishes.
DAZN will stream the event live worldwide, giving both men a global stage on which to break into the elite at 154 lbs.
