Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are gearing up for a history-making trilogy bout at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden on July 11. Not only do Taylor’s undisputed super lightweight titles hang in the balance, but the fight itself will top an all-women’s boxing card – a first for The Garden. Organized by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, the event will stream live on Netflix, adding even more star power and accessibility.
The two warriors have already delivered memorable clashes. Their inaugural April 2022 battle marked the first time women headlined at MSG, with Taylor narrowly winning by split decision in front of a sold-out crowd. The rematch in November 2024 was chief support on the Paul-Mike Tyson pay-per-view and ended in a disputed unanimous decision for Taylor. Despite the controversies, both fights broke viewing records, shining a massive spotlight on the women’s game.

For Taylor, 38, it’s another chance to assert her dominance after avenging a 2023 defeat to Chantelle Cameron and outpointing Serrano last year. Meanwhile, Puerto Rican icon Serrano, 36, is hungry to finally notch a victory in the trilogy following two razor-thin losses. Though she pushed for 12 three-minute rounds (a men’s championship standard), negotiations settled on the familiar 10 two-minute format again.

The undercard is heavyweight in everything but weight, as Alycia Baumgardner will defend her undisputed crown against Jennifer Miranda. Also, Ellie Scotney, unbeaten in ten, stakes her freshly collected IBF, WBO and Ring super-bantam belts against long-reigning WBC ruler Yamileth Mercado. The Mexican has rattled off six straight since her featherweight detour against Serrano and now aims to unify 122 lbs completely.
At super-middleweight, ex-undisputed queen Savannah Marshall makes her MVP debut, wielding the IBF strap against heavy-handed WBO titlist Shadasia Green; the pair own 21 stoppages in 29 combined wins, promising fireworks at 168. Lower down the scales, former IBF champ Cherneka Johnson and streaking veteran Shurretta Metcalf meet for the suddenly vacant undisputed bantam crown after Dina Thorslund’s pregnancy.
New MVP signing Chantelle Cameron returns to the Garden for the first time since splitting a pair with Taylor, defending her interim WBC super-lightweight title versus iron-willed “Cobra” Jessica Camara. Earlier, Somali-British trailblazer Ramla Ali seeks a rebound against Brazil’s Lila Furtado, while three-minute-round pioneer Tamm Thibeault tests unbeaten middleweight Mary Casamassa.
