The International Boxing Association has announced record-breaking prize money for the upcoming 2025 IBA Men’s Elite World Championships, scheduled for December 2–13 at Dubai’s National Tennis Stadium.
The tournament will feature the world’s top amateur boxers competing for a combined $8 million prize pool, which is the largest in the sport’s history.
Each weight category winner will earn $300,000, with $150,000 awarded to runners-up, $75,000 for third place, and $10,000 for fifth. In a nod to the sport’s ecosystem, prize payouts will be distributed between boxers, their coaches, and national federations (50%-25%-25%).
“This World Championships is not just about records and prize money – it is about giving every boxer, every coach and every National Federation the respect and reward they deserve,” said IBA President Umar Kremlev. “Dubai will become the capital of boxing this December, where athletes from every corner of the globe will compete on equal terms, under their own flags, and with a chance to change their lives.”
The event will also include the IBA Global Boxing Forum, an IBA Pro Event, and the IBA Congress, as Secretary General & CEO Chris Roberts OBE called it “a gathering that represents the full spectrum of our sport” and a moment when boxing “reached a new level.”
