Rising Mexican contender Jesus “Mono” Ramos is aiming to make history when he faces Shane Mosley Jr. for the interim WBC middleweight title on October 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, live on Prime Video PPV.
Ramos says his goal is clear: to become the first man to stop Mosley Jr. inside the distance. “Shane’s a great fighter who’s never been stopped,” Ramos said. “So my goal is to be the first to get him out of there.”
The fight marks Ramos’ chance to claim his first major title and position himself for a full world championship shot at 160 pounds. Mosley Jr., son of Hall of Famer Shane Mosley Sr., comes into the bout riding a five-fight win streak, including a standout victory over former two-time champion Daniel Jacobs.

Ramos stressed that his jab and sharp timing will be key in neutralizing Mosley’s slick style. He will also have the benefit of his uncle Abel Ramos, a former world title challenger, in his corner alongside his father and trainer Jesus Ramos Sr.
For Ramos, the fight carries personal meaning. Growing up, he idolized Mosley Sr., especially after his famous victory over Antonio Margarito. Now, he sees the chance to carve his own legacy against the Mosley name.
“This is what I worked my whole life for,” Ramos said. “I’ve never hit a wall I couldn’t overcome. My family never quit, and neither will I.”
The Ramos-Mosley Jr. bout joins the stacked October 25 card topped by Sebastian Fundora vs. Keith Thurman in Las Vegas.
