Ukrainian heavyweight Bohdan Myronets insists he is not the next Oleksandr Usyk, but a fighter on his own path. The 31-year-old, who recently signed a promotional deal with DMG Boxing and Promotions, is preparing to continue his career in the United States as he looks to step into the spotlight on his own terms.

“If someone compares me to Usyk, it will be a compliment,” Myronets said. “But I am not the second Usyk. I am the first Myronets. I have my own path, without an outstanding amateur career, without sponsors, without competent media promotion.”

Myronets, now based in Riga, Latvia, owns a professional record of 10-1 (5 KOs) and is coming off a win over previously unbeaten Jose Larduet last December in Germany. Under the guidance of coach Igor Mesmer, he has built a reputation as a smooth, high-output boxer who prides himself on discipline and work ethic.

“My loss had to happen, and it’s good that it happened early,” he reflected. “It made me rethink my approach to things. What I’ve already achieved is the result of only my work and a few people who believe in my potential.”

Now, with promotional backing, Myronets hopes to secure meaningful fights against recognized names in the division. Confident in his abilities, he believes his best years are still ahead. “I am already one of the best in the world,” he said. “In two or three years, when I reach the peak of my physical and technical condition, I will be the best.”
